Whether you are fully retired from your “life in the fast lane” or just slowing down, the Windward Association of Retired Men invites you to join our unique organization. WARM provides an opportunity for you to meet other “retired” men (and couples), develop new and lasting friendships and to participate in various sporting, service and social events (some including spouses). Most of all, it offers you the opportunity to choose from a wide randge of activiteis with an interesting group of laid back men with diverse backgrounds.

WARM was established in 1989 when three founding members (Tom Evans, Walt Hardcastle and Marty Blickstein) envisioned a highly-informal organization where retired men could get together and enjoy each other’s company in the pursuit of common interests. With over 65 members today, WARM continues to operate with no officers and no dues…only a “coordinator” who directs meetings, a “support coordinator” who handles various administrative duties (including all communications) and a “treasurer”.

Activities include but are not limited to the following:

Weekly Meetings: WARM meets for breakfast every Monday morning at 8:00AM at Artuzzi’s Italian Kitchen located in Windward Plaza (off Windward Parkway). These one-hour meetings are very informal with plenty of casual conversation and fellowship over a robust breakfast buffet (for a nominal $6). We often have local guest speakers covering a variety of topics of interest (examples include a Baseball Scout for the Boston Red Sox; a PGA Golf Professional; U.S. Congressman Tom Price; Director of Emergency Services at Emory; Mayors of Alpharetta, Milton and Johns Creek; various representatives of Alpharetta Government; Financial/Estate Planners, Windward representatives working on a potential Windward Community Center; Real Estate Agents, etc).
