Windward Parks and Green Space

The building of homes in the Windward residential community was started in the early 1980’s and the master plan for the community included several areas of open space and small neighborhood parks.

An example of the green space left by the developer is an area buffering the Greatwood neighborhood from Windward Parkway. Another is the large island in the Lake Shore neighborhood which was left as open space for the enjoyment of the neighborhood residents.
A couple of neighborhood parks are in the Schooner Ridge and Clipper Bay neighborhoods and are open natural areas with neighborhood docks. There is no accommodation for parking at these areas, but residents of the neighborhoods can easily walk to them.
